Mobile email applications use the same IMAP and SMTP settings regardless of the device manufacturer.

Applies to: SiteWorx hosting mailboxes on phones and tablets

Add the account manually

  1. Open the device email account settings and choose to add another email account.
  2. Choose Other, IMAP or Manual setup. Do not choose Exchange or a social-mail provider for a normal hosting mailbox.
  3. Enter the display name, complete email address and mailbox password.
  4. For incoming mail, enter the assigned secure server hostname, port 993 and SSL/TLS.
  5. For outgoing mail, enter the same hostname, port 587, STARTTLS and require authentication.
  6. Use the complete email address as the username for both servers.
  7. Save the account and allow the device to complete its connection test.

Recommended mobile settings

  • Use IMAP so read, deleted and sent messages remain synchronised.
  • Set a sensible synchronisation period if the mailbox is large.
  • Require the device screen lock and enable remote device protection where available.
  • Do not install an untrusted certificate profile to bypass a server-name warning.
