Update the saved credentials

  1. Stop repeated send/receive attempts on devices that still have the old password.
  2. Open the account’s incoming server settings and replace the saved password.
  3. Open the outgoing SMTP authentication settings and replace the password there as well.
  4. Confirm the username remains the complete email address.
  5. Save, then test receiving and sending.
  6. Repeat for every other device, website form, scanner or application using the mailbox.
