Change only the selected mailbox password, then update every device and application that uses it.
Applies to: SiteWorx hosting mailboxes
Change the password
- Sign in to SiteWorx.
- Open Hosting Features > Email > Mailboxes.
- Edit the correct mailbox.
- Generate or enter a strong, unique password.
- Save the change.
- Update the password for both incoming and outgoing servers on every connected device, website, scanner or application.
- Test webmail, receiving and sending.
Important: Old saved credentials may continue retrying and can trigger a temporary lockout. Update or disconnect every device promptly.
Common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Webmail accepts the new password but a device does not. | The device still has the old outgoing or incoming password. | Update both server sections and remove/re-add the account only after checking the exact settings. |
| A website stops sending mail. | The website SMTP configuration used the changed mailbox. | Update the application secret securely and clear only the relevant application cache. |
