A free trial is for genuine evaluation and cannot be used for production, bulk messaging, public file distribution or activity that threatens the platform.

Applies to: Seven-day hosting-trial limits

Trial services are deliberately restricted and may not include every feature of a paid plan. Do not use a trial for production data, bulk email, long-term storage or activity that would be difficult to recreate.

Before you start

  • Sign in to the Customer Portal using accurate customer details.
  • Do not place important or irreplaceable data on a temporary trial service.

What you need to do

  1. Use the service only to test a legitimate website or application that fits normal shared-hosting use.
  2. Do not upload phishing pages, malware, stolen material, credential-harvesting forms, unlawful content or tools intended to attack other systems.
  3. Do not use the account for bulk email, mailing lists, unsolicited messages, open relay tests or mail reputation experiments.
  4. Do not use trial storage as the only copy of data, a public backup repository, download mirror, proxy, stream or compute worker.
  5. Avoid high-load scanners, crawlers, benchmarks and automated account creation.
  6. Respond promptly to verification or abuse questions; access may be suspended or terminated immediately where risk is identified.

Common problems

SymptomLikely causeWhat to do
The trial order remains pending.Trials require manual review or the requested hostname/customer details need checking.Wait for the order decision and respond to any verification request; do not place duplicate trial orders.
The trial hostname or account stops working. The seven-day fixed term ended, the service was restricted for abuse, or the trial was not upgraded in time.Check the service status and termination date, then contact support promptly about any still-retained data without assuming recovery is possible.

Important notes

  • Trial hostnames use the format example.trial.tudornet.uk. The trial is temporary and should not hold the only copy of important data.
