Create a restricted FTP account for a person or process that needs file access, then connect using explicit FTP over TLS.
Applies to: SiteWorx FTP accounts
Important: Standard SiteWorx file transfer uses FTPS on port 21. Do not select SFTP or port 22; customer SSH/SFTP access is not provided on Tudor Internet SiteWorx hosting.
Create the account
- Sign in to SiteWorx.
- Open Hosting Features > FTP > Accounts.
- Select Add an FTP Account or the plus button.
- Enter the username and generate a strong, unique password.
- Set the home directory to the narrowest directory the account needs. Avoid granting access to the whole hosting account when only one website or upload folder is required.
- Save the account.
- Copy the exact username shown in SiteWorx; account usernames may include the domain or SiteWorx account prefix.

Confirm the restriction
- Connect using the FTPS settings above.
- Upload a harmless test file into the permitted directory.
- Confirm the account cannot browse above its intended home directory.
- Delete the test file and disconnect.
